Two way exchange to France during school year Sept 2023 to June 2024
TWO WAY EXCHANGE between Ireland and FRANCE
Programme: The Irish student will be matched with a French family having a child of a similar age who wants to improve their English.
For this programme the Irish student will travel to France and stay for a number of weeks with a French family and will speak and be immersed in the French language while there. The French student will travel to Ireland to improve their English language skills and to experience our culture and the way of life here. The families agree the travel dates and sequence of the visits. Both students will be together for the duration of the stay in France and Ireland.
Two way exchange a reciprocal exchange between two selected exchange students and their families at mutually agreed times and dates.
Exchange Students are matched as far as possible by age and interests. Each student will be fully integrated into the life and activities of their exchange family as a member of the family. All accommodation and meals are provided by the exchange family for the visiting student.
The steps involved:
Dates: Dates are flexible during school holidays. There is some availability during school year depending on age of the French student. Many French students aged 16 have exams during the year and cannot take time out to exchange during the year.
School holidays, either summer, Halloween or Easter make great times for this age group of French students to visit Ireland, or May/ June for those who are moving from junior school to senior school.
Length of exchange: Many French students are happy with an exchange of 2-4 weeks
Prices : Prices for two way exchanges start at €700 for exchanges up to 4 weeks long. €900 for up to 8 weeks. All exchange families must be Garda vetted. We are registered to process your vetting documentation. We send you details of Garda vetting process , you must complete these forms in a timely manner.
A Vetting fee of €25/person to be vetted is charged by the vetting agency, to process the vetting. This fee is not part of the exchange fee and is payable by you, the exchange family. It is not part of the application fee and cannot be refunded once a request for vetting has been submitted.
Locations in France: Each exchange is individual and our partners receive applications for exchange from many areas of France
including Paris. In addition to their permanent homes many French families have holiday homes which they visit during holiday periods.
Airport Transfers: The student will be met at the Airport on arrival by his or her exchange family, families discuss and agree the meet up
arrangement directly between themselves.

If expenses such as school uniform, school books, school bus tickets etc are likely to arise during the exchange, the parents of the student should pay for these items, and this should be discussed and clearly agreed directly between the families in advance of travel.

- We correspond and communicate with you to answer any questions you have before making the decision to apply for a two-way exchange.
- Complete our student application form and submit it to us on line. You will receive details of how to pay the application fee. Each application must be accompanied by an application fee of €150.
- We need photographs of the student , a group photo of the family , a photo outside of your home, the living room area, the student bedroom. The application is incomplete until we receive these photographs and cannot be processed.
- Ask your school principal for a reference and e mail it to us : cheznous10@yahoo.com
- If travelling and receiving a foreign student during the school year, please discuss and get agreement from your school principal.
- We prepare and send your family profile to our partner for consideration.
- We issue an invoice for the balances due

- We send a proposed exchange student profile to you for consideration.
- Once the proposed exchange partner has been accepted and payment of balance due you will receive the direct contact name and details of your exchange student and family. Your full contact details will be given to the foreign family and coordinator. Garda vetting must have been completed by you when requested.
- You can immediately begin corresponding with the exchange student, book flights, travel insurance and the two families begin to get to know each other.
- Complete all documents required for the student travel: permission to travel , parental consent forms and exchange contract form. Contact us if we have not supplied these forms to you.
