HOW TO BOOK A two way Exchange

- A parent or guardian should contact us to request an exchange for the student. Students may not book an exchange independently of this conversation with us about the proposed exchange.
- If an exchange is proposed during school term parents/ guardians should confirm with your school that they will allow the time out of school for the exchange and if required will accept the foreign student during school term.
- Having outlined the student's interest in the exchange and the family commitment to host an exchange student, please complete and return a student application form. An application fee of €150 is required with each application. The application will not be processed without this. It is refunded in full if for some reason we cannot propose an exchange partner.
- On receipt of completed forms and photographs ( one of the outside of your home, one of living area, one of kitchen, one of student bedroom, one of bathroom, one family photograph , one student photograph, one of your locality / local activities ) and application fee we will prepare a profile of your family, and we send your profile to our partner abroad.
- For students participating in a two way exchange, Irish families must be Garda vetted, we are registered to arrange this service for you and will provide details after we receive your application. There is a fee attached to this process which we collect and forward to the vetting organisation on your behalf. The fee is €25/ person vetted. All adults in the household must be vetted including adults in co parenting / separated situations if parents / guardians live apart and the students is to stay between households. Students aged 16-18 must also be vetted. Vetting must be completed before the commencement of the exchange. We issue an invoice re balances due and vetting fees due..
- Photographic student ID to be submitted
- When we confirm availability of an exchange partner we share the proposal with you for consideration and agreement to proceed.
- Balances due in the invoice must be paid.
- Book your own flights and insurances. Travel insurance is mandatory.
- Parental consent forms must be filled and returned to us. An agreement to exchange must be completed and returned to us.
- When we have received the necessary documentation and full payment you will receive contact details of your family abroad. Long Term school stays may require certificates of vaccination and copy of school reports.
- We will send contact details to you of your local coordinator abroad.
- In two way exchanges, all airport transfers, meals , and accommodation are provided directly by each family for the visiting student.
- Fees such as School fees as may arise are payable by you.
