Summer Internship Germany 2021

Program Dates: Generally Mid June to mid July
Our Colleagues in Germany provide the following services:
Necessary documents:
institutions in the social sector (e.g. day care centre or environmental projects) all over Germany
During their stay in Germany, students will be living with a selected host family and therefore get the opportunity to develop personal friendships and contribute to cross-cultural understanding .
Regardless of social, cultural and religious backgrounds,students have the opportunity to plunge into the German working world and to gain practical experience. The participants acquire both knowledge of a foreign language and useful cultural skills. Furthermore they learn to overcome prejudices, limitations and conflicts.
Our Colleagues in Germany provide the following services:
- Assistance in creating the application documents
- Introductory workshop via Skype
- Internship placement in a local kindergarten or other care sector position.
- Host family stay: accommodation and catering (half-board)
- Insurance for the entire stay
- Monthly ticket for local public transportation is already included in the program price.
- The interns will be supported by a contact person in Cologne. Additionally, an area representative will take care of the intern during her/his stay.
- Age: 14-18 years
- German level of A2 (CEFR)
- Interest in social work

- Each application must be accompanied by an application fee of €200 ,
Necessary documents:
- German translation of certificate of good conduct/ extract from police records or similar document.
- In Ireland we request a Garda vetting of candidates for this programme.

- Travel expenses to/from Germany
- 200 €/month for additional catering and pocket money
- If necessary: equipment for the internship
